COMMUNITY ADVISORY BOARD

The IU Geriatrics Community Advisory Board functions as a community advisory resource for the

IU Geriatrics Program which is designated as a John A. Hartford Foundation Center of Excellence in geriatric Medicine,

IU Center for Aging Research, established in 1997 with a mission to improve the quality of life for older adults through interdisciplinary research that seeks to improve the health of older adults, and

IU Roybal Center, established in 2004, funded by the NIA, and supporting the infrastructure to maintain a feedback loop between basic and applied areas of social and behavioral science to translate social science innovations into practical clinical applications.

The mission of the Board is to

(1) provide our geriatrics programs with a connection to the local community and its agencies, industry, and government, (2) communicate the big picture and needs of their respective organizations and constituents
to inform future geriatrics program decisions, and (3)
facilitate strategic partnerships between the community
and our geriatrics programs at Indiana University.

This distinguished group of community leaders advise our leadership on how to best focus our resources to meet the needs of older adults in Indiana. The faculty and staff members of the Center for Aging Research and the IU Geriatrics Program extend their appreciation to these individuals who give their time and expertise as members of our Community Advisory Board.
