The IU Geriatrics Program and the IU Center for Aging Research congratulate Bridget Fultz, MA, and Stephanie Munger, BS, on their staff promotions in IU-CAR.
Bridget Fultz has been promoted by Regenstrief Institute to the position of program manager of research operations for the IU Center for Aging Research. After joining the Institute in 1999 as a project coordinator with IU-CAR, she was promoted to project manager in 2002. Bridget currently manages the R01's IMPACT and PREVENT, the pilot projects EMBRACE, PRISM-PC and Delirium, and the Aging Brain Registry. Her new duties include managing pilot project activities for the IU-Roybal Center . She will continue managing the start up and conduct of other IUCAR research projects and assist in the hiring of project staff for funded R01's.
Stephanie Munger has been promoted by Regenstrief Institute to the position of project coordinator with the Center for Aging Research. Stephanie joined the Institute in 2003 as an interviewer/research assistant on the PREVENT Study. Her new duties will include coordination of enrollment for the Aging Brain Registry, as well as study activities for PREVENT, EMBRACE and PRISM-PC. Stephanie will also assist with IU-Roybal Center pilot studies.
To celebrate a year of strong teamwork and program successes, Steve Counsell, MD , welcomed members of the geriatrics faculty, staff, and guests at a holiday breakfast held December 7 at the University Place Conference Center . The planning committee included Kathy Frank, RN, DNS , and Beth Nikides, who presented attendees with backpacks sporting the " IU Geriatrics " name.

PRESENTATIONS
Malaz Boustani, MD, MPH, and Chris Callahan, MD, made presentations at the Methodist Hospital, Southlake Campus, on December 4, 2004 in Merrillville, Indiana. Malaz presented “The To Do List for Dementia Management in Primary Care," and Chris presented "Recognition and Treatment of Delirium in Hospitalized Older Adults."
Chris Callahan presented “New Models of Healthcare for Improving Outcomes among Older Adults with Depression,” at the 49th Annual Indiana Governor's Conference on Aging held in Indianapolis on December 7, 2004 . The conference theme was Energizing Generations: Get Energized and Informed.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Malaz Boustani, MD, MPH , will present “ Practical and Accurate Method to Dementia Diagnosis in the Geriatric Clinic ” at the January 5th IU Geriatrics Conference held in Wishard T2008 A&B from 7:30-8:30am . Dr. Boustani is assistant professor of medicine, IUSM; center scientist, IU Center for Aging Research; and research scientist, Regenstrief Institute, Inc.
The January 19th IU Geriatrics Conference features Steve Counsell, MD , Mary Elizabeth Mitchell Professor in Geriatrics. His presentation, “ Aging with GRACE: An Innovative Model of Primary Care for Low-income Seniors," will be held in Wishard T2008 A&B from 7:30-8:30am . Dr. Counsell is director of the Indiana University Geriatrics Program.
Angela Carbone, MD, will present “Exercise and Strategies to get People to Exercise” at the February 2nd IU Geriatrics Conference held in Wishard T2008 A&B from 7:30-8:30am . Dr. Carbone is clinical associate professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
